Workstation Player is a free 'Hypervisor' which can allow your PC to run one or more virtual machines. A virtual machine is a software representation of a physical computer used to run programs and deploy apps. Using this method can be a very low cost way of deploying Home Assistant. It is however not recommended to permanently run Home Assistant in this way. If the PC used is also used for other things, such as gaming or other intensive operations, you will experience performance issues. Where possible it is recommended to use separate hardware, such as the Raspberry Pi or a low powered PC. Thank you for watching. In this video we will demonstrate how to set up an ESP32 based multisensor. We will connect a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and CO2 sensor to the ESP32 module. Seeed Studio (seedstudio.com) have provided us with some ESP32 modules and sensors, along with their Grove expansion boards, so we have used these to demonstrate how to build a sensor. To establish if your Synology NAS can run VMM, check here - https://www.synology.com/en-us/dsm/packages/Virtualization It is recommended to increase the memory in your Synology NAS to increase performance if you are planning to run VMM. Check to see what your NAS will support. In some cases, your Synology NAS will support higher memory than ‘officially’ supported.
