Alexa down for some in UK / Europe this morning

There are a number of reports that Alexa devices are not responding to instructions this morning, instead showing a red light indicating that they are unable to get a connection.

This appears to be intermittent – for many users it’s working fine. In some cases, people have noted that one device may not be working but others in their house are working without issue.

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) dashboard isn’t reporting any issues so far.

If you’re affected, unplug your Alexa device, and then plug it back in again. If it still refuses to connect, hold fire – I’m sure Amazon will have fixed the issue in a few hours.
